Promised to marry: in Ternopil Oblast, a woman gave an "American" UAH 122,000, but he disappeared
The man disappeared when he received money from the victim.
In the Ternopil region, a woman gave a swindler 122,000 hryvnias because he promised her marriage. However, when the fraudster received the funds, he disappeared.
This was reported by the police of the Ternopil region.
According to the police, a resident of one of the villages of the Ternopil district met a foreigner on the Internet. The man assured that he was a "citizen of the United States" and promised the victim marriage.
Later, the "groom" stated that his mother was seriously ill and needed funds for treatment. Then the resident of Ternopil Oblast decided to help her "future husband" and transferred UAH 122,000 to him.
After that, the "foreigner" disappeared. The victim contacted the police.
Law enforcement officers opened proceedings under Article 190 of the Criminal Code. The investigation is ongoing.
