He promised to marry: in Volyn, a woman transferred 700,000 hryvnia to the “fiancé”.
She even borrowed money for her "lover".
In Volyn, a 63-year-old woman gave 700,000 UAH to a scammer who promised to come and marry her.
The intruder, whom she met through the social network, introduced himself as a citizen of Singapore.
This was announced by the police of the Volhynia region.
The man confided in the victim, wrote that he is currently in a difficult situation, but would very much like to
visit her, they say he liked the woman, he even intends to marry her.
“Also, he sent her various accounts to which funds were supposed to be transferred for various services:
applying for a passport, health insurance, certificates, tickets for exiting the host country, etc.
She was even sent letters from an unknown account, allegedly from the UN , sending invoices to which funds had to be transferred.
Having handed over all her savings to the scammers, the woman borrowed a certain amount of money, which she also sent, believing that she would help the fictitious groom leave one of the scammers “The countries of Southwest Asia come to her faster in Volhynia "said the police.
The attacker scammed money from a gullible woman for a month.
The woman then went to the police with a statement about the offence, information on this fact was recorded in the EDPR under the article Fraud (Article 190 of the Criminal Code).
