The suggestion that his son is in Malaysia tells me that that is where the scammer is, if you could please post the header we will be able to confirm that.

My guess is that at some stage he will end up in Malaysia as part of the scam.

The Malaysian based scammers are generally the ones that have been more successful at scamming, usually they are nigerian born and able to afford the move funded in almost all cases by online fraud.

I don't have any headers. The note was sent through Match.com and I didn't respond to him. Would it be helpful to always give out the yahoo address and then start ignoring them after the first email?

It's best to ignore them as soon as you suspect that they may be a scammer

The risk of contacting the scammer for just one message in order to get an email address is minimal I agree, but it is a risk and one that I cant suggest.

If anybody has an annonymous profile at that site who would like to contact him, that would be my preference

I am not surprised... because I have said to him that I have spoken with a scam before him... and the last time we have spoken together, I said to him he was copy and paste because I googled his wordsm and find them on site of love letters....He was ?&*&(*(_ and this was the end.....

It's likely the account has been deleted for abuse. That's the bane of our life. When accounts are closed, they simply set up a new one and reports like this become meaningless. It's incredibly frustrating, and why we keep telling people it's counter-productive to close free email addresses or dating site profiles down. RZ is right. Bad. But not your fault. If he contacts you again with a new email address, can you post it here?
