In reference to Pauline's message about Dimi Scott, I have done some research for her on this guy and yes he is a scammer. Pauline sent me his header information and when I ran a check on it it comes up as coming through Abuja, Nigeria.

First, Thanks to you all for posting information. It's a relief to know where the pictures actually came from, and that I am not alone in this situation. I was suspicious from the beginning, but played along for awhile. It wasn't until I really started researching, that I realized the depth and depravity that these people go through to scam their fellow human beings. I attempted to get the local news interested, as well as reporting to the ICCC, while I continued to string this guy along. Unfortunately, it seems there's so much of this going on, that the only weapon we have against them is sharing the knowledge. I feel a sense of closure though, finding out who the pictures actually belong to. Sad that not only are they scamming people by playing on emotions, but also stealing other peoples faces.

This guy is now going by Tom Gills, and claims to work at Schlumberger in the UK. When he's too busy trying to scam others, he claims he has emergencies at work, and had to go offshore. I won't post pictures, as ALL of the photos he sent me have already been posted here. He first contacted me on facebook. We have IM'd on yahoo, and he has called me on the phone, as well as skype.

Does someone else want to mess with him, too? I'm done messing with him...I'm not good at lying and it was giving me a headache...after the initial pleasure of wasting his time wore off.

He followed the scammer formula:

fell in love quickly - check
plagiarized poetry from online - check
coming to visit from another country - check
going on business in Africa first - check
offers opportunity to invest - check

One thing did throw me off a bit. He eventually did webcam with me for like 2 minutes, and did not look as I thought he would, but looked as though he might be from India, from what I could tell. However, I have now seen the posting regarding how webcam can be faked.

As a petroleum engineer, i work in offices, however, analyzing the reports and recommendations of field engineers and advising corporate decision-makers on oil.
