William Mason - willmason011@gmail.com

Post by Kam3stone »

Hello everyone
I was contacted by a certain William Mason on a Silver Dadies dating site.
We've been exchanging messages for the past ten days.
He explained that he was a Sergeant in the U.S. Army, currently deployed in Libya. (Why not)
Same story or more or less as reported here; his father is German and his mother American, his parents died in an accident when he was 15, and he was raised by his uncle.
He is supposed to live in San Diego CA
He had been in a relationship for five years with his boyfriend, whom he caught in bed with another man...
He left everything two years ago.
He supposedly has two German shepherds who are currently being cared for by a dog warden. He's supposed to be 36 or 38, I can't remember. (37…just checked)
He is supposed to finish his mission abroad in two months.
He's extremely polite and his speech is perfectly polished
This speech was perfectly romantic and suited the profile I had succinctly filled in on the dating site.
Of course, he fell madly in love with me in less than a week...

Since I'm not a three-week-old rabbit, I did a reverse search on the photos he sent me, and I came across this chat...
I'm quite flabbergasted by what I've read, especially in view of the real guy in the photos, whom one of the forum members seems to have traced.

I thought that was a scammer, but I have to say it's a pretty special, well thought-out scam.
So far he hasn't asked me for anything.
Until now.

I'm still toying with him, if I can say toying. We all have our deeper reasons, and to be honest I'm using him to deal with feelings that were a bit foreign to me until now.
But as much as I'd like this guy to be real, my rational, down-to-earth side keeps me from falling into the trap. The trap is really too big.
I don't think it's going to go very far, I'll probably soon be treated to the scene where he has a financial problem and needs help.
It's not the first time it's happened to me, but I'll give him the same answer I give everyone else...
I never send gifts or money to someone I haven't met, and that's a non-negotiable rule.
I think it will cut short that boy's deep love for me pretty quickly ...
In the end, it's better to laugh about it, but I find it deeply saddening and I feel for anyone who's been taken in by this guy, or at least the people claiming to be Sergeant Mason.
Below is the phone number and e-mail he gave me.
I traced the phone number to a 73 year old gentleman who lives in New York State, so I think the number was hacked via a VO IP system.
His e-mail is in Gmail.com, I haven't managed to trace it, so I'll leave the fun to you if you like.
Take care and forgive my English, not necessarily. Very good.
Sincerely

Below is his email address and telephone number .

Hello everyone

So William Masson continued.

I continued to chat with the man posing as Sergeant Masson.
This guy is incredibly talented and attentive to details.
It took him three weeks, but he finally asked me for money to treat his German shepherds, who were sick and had to be operated on by the vet.
He’s not shy… he asked for 700 $…
I ended the conversation.
I blocked it.
I don't add pictures, the ones he sent me are all on this forum, I didn't even get an unpublished one ...

Profile also featured on dating site

Take care of yourself

So ladies he has picked a new name. Jayson Lloyd. Same info, comes on strong, all in love. He says from gGA stationed in Baghdad. He messaged me through tik Tok. I figured out early it was a scam and well, I was bored and kept it going till he asked for money. I actually mentioned to him all th scammers on tik Tok and threw him for a loop. He didn't ask for money just for me to open a bank account to help him, because his main phone didn't work. Also, he shared a picture of the real Mason (name on uniform) after telling me his name was Jayson Lloyd, should have seen the back peddling.

Stay safe.

He is now also going by Jeff Mason on PoF and his location shows he is in Oklahoma but he told me he is currently stationed in Korea. We chatted online for a day or so and then he asked for my phone number. I gave it to him, and then he messaged me on telegram which was suspicious. We messaged back-and-forth for less than a day on telegram and then he asked me for money. I immediately blocked him and reported him, but he then proceeded to iMessage me the other day. I called him out on the asking for money thing, and he said that it wasn’t him. It was someone else and then when I kept drilling into it, he admitted that it was him and that he borrowed money from a friend and then needed to pay the friend back, but he wouldn’t ask for money again. He seems like a nice guy and at a lot of of the things he says lineup with my beliefs, but I don’t go posting those anywhere. I’ve been entertaining him for the sheer purpose of exposing him as a scammer. He is using a lot of the same pictures and claims to be a sergeant in the United States Army, and is also a sniper.

Hi everyone,
I'm Piotr from Poland. I found this guy on a polish gay dating site. He wrote that his name is Tony Frank and he's from the US Kentucky and currently works in Romania. Of course he's looking for a serious relationship.
Stay alert, internet users :)

So, it seems that unfortunately, "Ryan Manny Mason" has scammed me. He was on Grindr - and it was all innocent in the begging, talking about being in Israel, and how the stresses of being there were terrible - he had issues with a food card and his phone - he got $500.00 out of me over the course of a month. The worst part he was sincere and caring - and took a very passive aggressive mode to make his cases. He even introduced his "Commander Brewer" where I sent the funds to. The pictures that he sent were both "g" and "x" rated - and in reflection he really is skilled at this - he much have watched "Catch me if you can" multiple times. I am going on the premise that I can kiss getting any money back. And now I really like a true mark.

Hello all! I met Dave Mason on Tinder. His new alias it seems. All the same story as said above or below lol. Hasn't asked for money yet but it's only been a few days. He is stationed at Jefferson city at the department of defense. He's been in the army for 14 years. He's waiting for our relationship to move to the next level(whatever the hell that means). I'm just waiting for the money question at this point. 8 different guys in a row on Tinder tried to scam me. Don't fall for it!
