I'm the real Alec Couros and I recently created a screencast related to how scammers use my Youtube videos over Skype. This has been reported by many victims, and it is often the key moment where victims begin to truly believe that the scammers are who they say they are.

Incidentally, I am getting pretty much a new victim every single day (on average). Are others (whose pics are being used) seeing this much action in this regard? Is this typical?

This scammer has used these names in dating sites. He is charming. Gets your heartstrings saying he is from NY called to Dubai. His corporation needs him to exit Hotel he had just paid for tuition for his 6 yr. old girl asks you for assistance in cash form. He continues to speak to you then kicks you to the side of road. I have his Volp phone number however volp phones are not able to be tracked. ( 516-360-9976) Do not give him any information. In conversation he asks pets names I changed my dog and cats name up. He actually again in conversation asks what you make. Be careful he is sly.
