In Cheboksary, the investigation into a criminal case against members of an organized group of "brides" has been completed. They cheated the citizens of China in the amount of about 3.5 million rubles. This is reported by the press service of the Chuvash Ministry of Internal Affairs.

In the fall of 2021, investigators checked the homes of tenants with a tendency to use illegal substances and found a call center there to deceive foreigners. As it turned out, residents of Mari El rented an apartment in Cheboksary. They corresponded with foreigners on behalf of potential brides and agreed to come to the groom only on condition that he pay the fare in full. In order to get a Russian bride, the men sent large sums of money to their pen pals. Of course, after receiving the money, potential wives disappeared.
The investigation identified three victims from China. The victims of the attackers were men from Wuhan, Xining and Ganzhou cities, aged 42 to 56.
