I don't usually send the first message...when I do, I find that I usually get ignored *shrugs*
I do browse profiles, I come across a lot of short or empty profiles which only contain... "contact me if you want to know more"..... if you write something, it tells people a little bit about you, so then the reader can make the decision if they want to contact you or not.
I see a lot of 'pointless' photos, be genuine and share a picture of YOURSELF. A photo of a sunset, flower or group photo does not show people who *YOU* are. If you are so worried about your privacy, you have chosen the wrong place to get to know people.
ERGH..... and then there are the people who bug you for a chat, when they don't share any common interests.... then they get annoyed when I don't wish to chat, with them suddenly DEMANDING why I won't chat with them. Please, don't get your knickers twisted if I say I'm not interested in chatting.... move on and chat with someone else..... your profile will inform me if I think I want to chat with you or not.
Is there anyone out there interested in swapping postcards?? I have a collection here I am interested in sharing. I know people who have swapped with me have not been disappointed.
I am happy to say that I have had quite a few opportunities to meet my penpals. Standing in front of someone you have only seen their life through a piece of paper or via a computer screen is quite surreal. Have you ever met up with anyone you have written to before?
I can't believe I have to write this but, due to many thousands of fake idiots who pass through here, I strictly will NOT chat to anyone who is an oil rig worker, doctor, cosmetic surgeon, high ranking/heavily decorated military member, geo scientist, engineer, aid/orphan worker or investor.... go find a real job!!
