This week, I was contacted by Michael on ourtime. I went to look up his username, grab the picture, and discovered his whole profile and messages from the inbox have vanished.
Events: Two days ago, I saw him online, read the profile, liked what I read but had a quick flash of hmmm, so I sent a quick IM asking if he was real flesh and blood. I also sent a flirt asking the same thing. He responded to flirt. Is using the name Michael. After a couple messages through the site, he asked to text by phone. Wasn't sure but went ahead to take a chance because emails were proper American English and grammar. Thanked me for number and said would text me soon. (I included a note explaining why my area code was different from where I was living when I sent my number.)
Next morning, I received a text from him. The number came in as a Florida number. There were a couple different responses on the yahoo search results but nothing flagged super suspicious but it raised a flag. I logged into ourtime and he was logged in. Checked his profile and nothing in the profile indicated Florida so flag raised higher. I sent an IM through site. He responded to IM from yesterday "Why are you always asking if I am real". I tried playing it safe and responded something like he just seems to have what I been looking for. I asked why he has a Florida number. He asked me to reply to his text first and then he would tell me through the phone but not through the site's IM. Flag raised high. Thought this is a scam. Decided to see what the new scam flavor of the month is so I replied to his initial phone text.
Unfortunately, I deleted the texts so the next items are by memory and is a summary. Said he is in special ops and on assignment attending a particular military school. (search - school location didn't match phone area code). Asked if his line of work scared me. Said No, why would it. (Red Flag)-- He asked me specifically what kind of work I did. I responded in vague terms which would match what my profile stated (technical) without raising suspicions on his end or revealing too much on my end. He texted a few more times, making inquiries, flirted a bit. (I started deleting the texts) I asked when he was returning to home (midwest). He said he was going to be at school for two weeks. Later in the early evening, he asked what I was doing? I replied working. He replied hope he was not distracting. Replied later that I had another meeting to attend and a couple errands. He texted me late at night asking when I normally go to sleep. Told him it varies. I deleted the texts. This morning, I started doing searches on dating online scams and came across a gallery of photos of some men's pictures used in scams. It had a link to this site.
When I saw the tag line ".. pictures of Michael", I took a look and saw it is the same guy in the pictures. Saw instructions about posting the pictures, email address, username, site, and phone. Unfortunately, when I logged back in to get the info, his profile has vanished.
Here is what I have:

Profile text items : looks young for his age. If ask his friends, they will say he is the one with the baby face. Is widowed. Has one child. Technical field. College educated.
Comments from texts : wife was killed in auto accident when his daughter was one. Daughter's name is Debbie. Accident happened seven years ago. Is an agent in Special Ops. Is currently out of state in military school. Texting with me made the day brighter or more enjoyable. Looking forward to chatting with me more.
Questions to me from texts: What exactly are the three things you are looking for that you didn't get in your last relationship? Wanted to know exact details about the type of work I do and who I work for. and others that I can't remember.
