The government of the United Kingdom has deported 61 Nigerians for various offences.
The deportees arrived the country aboard a special chartered flight, which landed at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos on Thursday evening.
Immigration sources said 45 of the deportees were male while 16 were female.
According to the sources, most of the deportees had committed immigration related offences in the UK.
The deportees, who passed through various security checks at the Hajj and Cargo Terminal of the airport, were later released by airport officials.

Re: UK deports 61 Nigerians
It's odd how the comments fail to mention that these people went to all the effort of coming to the UK, obviously because they wanted to be here and felt it was a better place to be in than their "beloved" Nigeria. Then, when they get kicked out, they all crawl out of the woodwork saying how terrible the UK is. Typical Nigerian mentality. It's always someone else's fault, never theirs!

Re: UK deports 61 Nigerians
Typical criminals´ mentality, I would say.
I find it pretty revealing that out of all Nigerian posters I remember, either it´s the mugus themselves or it´s a normal poster (or at least, unproven that he found RS because he googled his scammer profile...) and he comes on complaining how bad the situation is and how everyone is doing it and why we think all 9jas were the same blablabla. Then we all compose detailed and very reasonable replies and that was the last we have seen of him.
Strange. Russia, to name just one random country where a tiny tiny proportion do online fraud, has dedicated scamfighters. 9ja seems to be worse with self-reflection...
At any rate, the crowd of posters from 9ja who post in favour of antiscam articles and behaviour (ha, or who would even join the fight!) is...well... they might fit into a telephone booth
Just coming and complaining and blaming us/the situation/ is so much easier.
Ok, true self-reflectional behaviour somehow prohibits a successful criminal career, so what is to be expected of bums like them?^^

Re: UK deports 61 Nigerians
Oddly enough, as I was looking through the statistics for the new ebook I spotted people had come to the site from a Russian one. I took a look and it was an article on how to spot a scammer and sites that show how to spot scammers. Never seen any 9ja sites doing that....FrumpyBB wrote:Strange. Re: UK deports 61 Nigerians
I found some other interesting news stories that show the "It's YOUR fault" attitude the Nigerians have. The first one is about a person that jumped out of a 2nd storey window to avoid police in an immigration raid and died. Who do the Nigerians blame? The police, not the person who died while actively trying to avoid being caught in posession of an expired visa.

More than 100 African people surrounded a police station in Guangzhou yesterday afternoon after a Nigerian man died during an immigration raid, state media said today.
Reports said he jumped out of a second floor shop window as police mounted surprise passport checks.
protesters took the body of the man, who it said was trying to evade police because his visa had expired, to a police station to demand justice.
http://www.guardian.co.uk/commentisfree ... sponse-bbc" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; These people's visas had expired … We don't have any details of what went on but we believe he was running away and in the course of the pursuit he died.
It's understandable that they would want to live in other countries however. Look at the 10 worst cities to live in according to an Economist Intelligence Unit survey. Spot any familiar names? The Nigerian obsession with image often approaches neurotic proportions. What people think of us appears to take manic precedence over who we really are. You might imagine that the rational response to some of the infamies we are accused of across the globe would be: "Are we really like this? If we are, then let's do something about it – quick." Instead, we perpetually harangue and speechify to "correct" the world's impressions of us. If it isn't moaning about the depiction of Nigerians as criminals in the movie District 9, it is berating Hillary Clinton for daring to describe the situation in our country as heartbreaking and our leadership as a failure, or boycotting Oprah for warning against Nigerian 419 scams on her show.

Thus ends my rant.Bottom 10 cities
Tehran
Douala
Harare
Abidjan
Phnom Penh
Lagos
Karachi
Dhaka
Algiers
Port Moresby

Re: UK deports 61 Nigerians
From the book I'm spending every moment of my waking hours on these days:
As humans we tend to create stories to explain what has happened to us. Memory and history merge and become one, making it difficult to discern between truth and fiction. Immersed in our victimhood, we paint pictures of a history filled with injustice, disillusionent and pain, and over time these stories become a definition of who we are. When entire nations embrace these stories the pain becomes embedded in our collective psyche and we become stuck, unable to move forward. Such is the case with West Africa.
Help us keep scammers stupid Post his details here to warn others, then walk away without explanation. Confrontation alerts scammers & makes them change their identities...which makes all your hard work outdated. It messes with their minds if they don't know why you walked away.

But a police officer at the scene denied any deaths
He's not dead, he's only resting.........

I hope the immigration check continued, including on higher level floors.

This is funny....

Somehow, the numbers are wrong, or maybe they don't count the 700 Nigerians in prison in China?
I would guess if they did, that would make 'most' of the Nigerians in China to be convicted criminals?
Maybe they aren't counting the 'undocumented' Nigerians, either?
Maybe if the Nigerians realized they had a 70% chance of ending up in prison in China, they wouldn't go there?

And from about the same time....There are an estimated 700 Nigerians currently in prison in China
http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2009/ju ... ation-raid" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Oladele said he believed there were around 1,000 Nigerians in China, most of them students and academics or business people
