Am so grateful for this site. It immediately confirmed my suspicions. I, too, was contacted by this scammer through seniorpeoplemeet with the same photos, approach and style of dialogue. At once I sensed weirdness and was able to find this site by googling his email address. Thank you for confirming the ubfortunate truth....would love to date the actual guy in the photos!

I am glad that I could stop this guy at least once. From the story above he sent me a nasty email blaming me for not helping him when he needed help. I responded that it must be on his side that there was a problem. He engaged in on last IM where he swore he was not lying, would never use his daughter to get money, he was contacting me so often because he is 'here for my heart' . Emily is in serious pain, can't fly out to US for treatment, must have the surgery now. Hmmm Congenital heart disease would have the surgery when she was a baby but he as the father didn't know this. He was so afraid of losing her like he lost his wife and parents. I am the only one to help....blah blah...I told him of not having a job and have to support myself (THESE GUYS couldn't care less because they NEED your money more than you and they will pay you back). I also told him of another BAD experience I had with a real pro (Frank Wriedt posted also on this site) This jerk was just not the pro as too obvious. I told Jason that I didn't want to be in contact with him any more as I didn't like his approach and was not going to send money (remember I faked that I sent it to him in the first place and he was very unhappy the reference number he took to Moneygram didn't work) Moneygram will now have the record for 'Jason' showing up and most likely put a hold on transfers. Well boo-hooo, Jason and I are now done. He broke off the chat when I said I think he is a scammer. Yeah, the guy in the picture is enticing. My other scammer with a fake picture was in my head and messed with me totally. I was too late on that one but got Jason.

Ladies, this is the end of my contribution on this jerk. Don't think this guy is too smart so the pattern will repeat itself.

See above posts for his story. I guess poor Emily is still waiting for someone to help her= Jason wanting your money to help him. Remember, with a scammer it is NOT one time. It is the beginning to bleed you out of significant money (more medical bills, expenses, an accident, bank transfers, tickets, etc.... more things than you can imagine). It plays out like a story board of your reaction and you get sucked into the whole thing of feeling sorry for the guy, his growing 'love' for you, you are the only one to help, and if you don't 'save' him something terrible will happen. lalalalala..... Meanwhile, you get hurt and this guy will never be in your life as he isn't real. This guy was no longer in touch with me after I told him I was not going to send money, thought he was a scammer.

A week ago this Jason Wilson contacted me from the Seniorpeople site. I sussed him out after a couple of messages but continued as I wanted to see when he would be asking for money which he did on about the second mail. I asked him which hospital Emily was in and the name of her doctor. Googled then and they did not exist. He said it was a small new hospital. I also confronted him regards the address of the apartment he was staying as the address did not exist. Exactly the same photos and I reported him to administration on that site as a scammer and his profile has disappeared. He said the surgery for Emily would cost $5800 of which he had come up with the $5000 and needed me to lend him the $800 which he would pay me back. I said I thought it strange as a business man he didn't have access to this small amount. His money was tied up in fixed accounts he couldn't access else he would not be asking him. Anyway this is his second mail to me:

Dearest Jason is still alive and well on SeniorPeopleMeet under SINGLEMAN9000 as of 7/26/09. Red flags went up for me after his first written message, as many have commented as an "educated man", he has no grasp of the English language. I've been on the Web the entire day searching out all the info I could find and this site was the best. Sorry Vizcaya, I received the identical email from him this morning which prompted my investigation. I have not replied, but I will to see if he hits me up for money. I sent a message to SinglePeople.com about his continuing to be a member as of 9:00 PM PST. It angers me that they have failed to keep him out, especially after reading here that several others have complained dating back months. I'm very careful on dating sites, but I had no idea how extensive this romance scam is until I read all about it today. I really appreciate everyone who has come forward about this particular scam. Now, how do we get rid of him?

Jason Wilson is still on Yahoo messenger as touchyoursoulup. He started to scam me as I posted earlier. Just for kicks I sent him an IM addressed to Seth and asked him how he is doing.

I have a new level of shock, the mails from Seth Smith were the same as from Frank Wriedt (my real scammer!) Somehow my two scammers have morphed and may be the real scammer. This was about a week before he started hitting me for money. He called to have me read it to him and look into his eyes. The mails posted above from Seth shocked me as he is telling the story of being on gold mine site and ready to make his tranactions. This could be the same guy. My scammer (Frank Wriedt) story left off of him cleaning me out and now in contact telling me he is trying to get his gold out of Ghana so he can pay me back. The timing is right for him to strike. Watch out.

In the vast majority of scams, the scammer claims to be an engineer, architect, gold/precious metals importer, or antique importer. Other careers do come up occasionally but these are used by a huge number of scammers, so it is not unusual to see two completely different scammers with the same career and some of the same language in scripts (they don't have a problem with stealing scripts from each other).

But, it is also not unusual for a scammer to approach a victim with a 2nd character to a) check the victim's loyalty; b) scam using multiple angles at the same time--this way if plan A doesn't work, plan B is already in motion; and c) eventually use one character to support the story of the other character. We baiters do the same thing. If your scammer is playing both characters, you can be certain that neither name or set of photos is really him, though. You can check the IP's for the two and see if they are coming from the same cafe--if so, it is more likely that both characters are the same scammer.

I posted my full story on this not so smart scammer. Jason will be hitting you any moment now. Most likely it will be his daughter Emily getting sick somehow and he has to to pay for her treatment in advance or something else. He will ask for $800. This is the max that can be sent by Moneygram per day from a drug store type place without going to a special moneygram site that requires more paperwork and questions. (I know too well after my mega scammer cleaned me out!!) It will ONLY go on for more requests for money. Accuse him of pressuring you and you are worried about sending money to someone in Africa that you don't know, he will get the hint but of course he is different and only only there for your heart, he can't use his own daughter to hurt you and of course he can't loose her, and let him rant a little and then cut him off. Then post his mails on this site to warn others.

If it is the same guy who tried to hit me up, he will go away when you tell him to not contact you. He is not the sharpest knife in the drawer but can hurt.

Thanks for your comments on this scammer. After all the reading and researching I've been doing the past few days, I decided not to respond to his first "formatted" response and I haven't heard from him again. I don't want to be involved or play the game. I have learned a lot how to spot these guys now, and when I do and confirm it, I'll report them. I figure that's the best I can do to help others who have really been harmed. Before I knew what this was about, I thought how strange so many of these men are in construction, same salaries, widowed with one child and Catholic. I counted these profiles for So. Calif. on SeniorPeopleMeet and found eleven! Imagine how many there are nation wide? We just need to keep everyone informed!

You are right to not try to play out the scammer but to watch for them and report. My first scammer threw me for such a loop and got burned so bad so now I like others on this forum are tuned into the red flags. I just did a simple search on Senior People Meet for widowed and here he is again. I flirted and will see if he responds.

Im amazed at the boldness and the ignorance in this scammer. I couldn't help it and sent a email saying he looked familiar, and that yes I recognized him as singleman9000, and that he should wise up and get off the site before the time he spent was in jail. Of course no response but he is still on SinglePeopleMeet.

I posted him on here as GROOMSTUNE on Senior People meet. I flirted with him a couple of times to see if he remember his extensive exchange with me as Jason Wilson and his begging for Emily's life earlier. He didn't reply. He still is active on IM as touchyoursoulup. He is on there everyday and doesn't seem to notice I am there. Earlier he was Jason Wilson and from a post from someone else here as Seth Smith. I sent a not to Jason and greeted him as Seth, and asked him if he was busy scamming women with different names. On SeniorPeople Meet I also did a search for widowed, catholic, 75,000 income, with a child and then found a bunch of the 'too cute ' to be real photos as in actor like photos and the profile was almost the same. I flirted with several of them to see if I could get some name and email address to report.

I was contacted by two different guys there that match the profile and the opening email that looks like what we have seen. This time however, the pictures were more normal and believable but the story was similar. Could be the actor type pictures are getting replaced from what they steal from social networking sites. I am the perfect scam bate with my profile so am hit about once a week by one of these guys. Too bad I didn't know that when I was hit by my big scammer BIG time. I will never be the same and have a long time to heal and never recover financially. It is terrible to fall into this false trap.

Watch for the signs, report these monsters who only want to destroy your life. You want them to be real. They are not real, didn't have the wife die in a car accident, are not by chance in Nigeria, Ghana or West as some sort of engineer, they don't love you, they have nothing to give you and will take every step to ruin your life for their gain.
